"You see, Liari, before I can teach you, I require a... specimen in order to teach you the finer points of mental domination." Babadi explained, walking with his majin towards the elevator. "I can only teach you so much with YOU being on the other end of the spell... so finding a suitably resilient individual would suit my purposes better than toying with your mind." Liari blinked at that, surprised that, after EVERYTHING she had done for the wizard, he was still treating her as callously as he had done the moment she had fallen under his spell! It... It was as if she hadn't done anything for him at all! ...Well, at least he was giving thought to compensation for her efforts, at least. The smallest huff would escape from the Majin's nose but the wizard didn't seem to notice, his bulbous eyes flicking up the shaft of the elevator as the pair walked up to it! ...The little potato seemed so focused, as if there was something VERY serious attracting his attention! Liari had only ever seen this kind of focus from him when he was using the chamber for his own meditation! So, what was he-
...Liari's eyes widened as a group of foreign powers filled the top layer of the ship! She could feel them, all of their kis practically RADIATING with goody-goody power! She could practically TASTE the good deeds that came from their presence, energy so RADIANT... it was like swallowing a mouthful of raw sugar: ...Gods, it made her stomach turn just thinking about it! Babadi's eyes flicked up to his servant and he smirked... Good to know she was feeling the same way.
"As it happens, a group of 'heroes' have discovered my vessel and I have let them inside... for you."
"For me, sir...?" Liari questioned, her gaze flicking back down to the Wizard! "...Wouldn't it have been better if I faced them outside of your ship rather than inside...? The last thing I would want is for your vessel to suffer damage in the battle..."
"Then you will just have to make sure they DON'T damage my ship!" Babadi snapped, flashing a glare at Liari for even DARING to question him... He then continued. "...There are more than one purpose than just the one I have given you, my servant. With every drop of energy they lose, my ship will syphon it off back into that sealed ball in my chamber... For as much power as you have gathered, its still not enough to fully top-off my experiment.... Not yet."
"...I understand. I will deal with these intruders."
"Excellent... And Liari...?" Babadi paused her, stopping the majin before she could step inside the elevator! "...Do take your time. While I would like nothing more than that VERMIN to be exterminated from my presence, I am unable to take energy that is obliterated in sudden and devastating attacks. Do try to beat them down if you can... and spare the energy-attacks."
"Understood." ...And like that, Liari hovered up to the top floor, Babadi waving as she went! "FINALLY! I'm going to see some results!" The majin huffed the moment she had put a few floors between herself and the Wizard! Her Majin mark faded, if only a bit, the typical bulk and SWOLLEN VEINS that accompanied a possessed individual disappearing into Liari's normal physique. "I have been playing 'butler' with that IMP for LONG ENOUGH. Pretending like I'm his hired muscle, acting like he had some kind of sway over me... Ever since I figured out how to overcome his magic, just being around his STINK is infuriating!" Liari masked her thoughts with a wave of magic, sending a kind of feedback into Babadi's mind, likely telling HIM all the things he wanted to hear while masking Liari's actual thoughts. "...At least now I am finally going to learn the ins and outs of that little spell he has... Maybe I'll make him MY servant, FORCE HIM to work for ME! Heheheheh... I wonder what Quash would say if I brought that worthless mage before him and popped his head like a balloon..."
These dark thoughts brought a twisted sense of satisfaction to the Majin, her mind flicking to ALL THE WAYS she could make the mage SUFFER for mistreating her through this charade. Sure, he was far more charitable than SHEN, much easier to please... but he was JUST as insufferable! Hearing his voice day in and day out, doing TASKS for him like SHE was HIS to command, PRETENDING that she was subservient or even LIKED THE GUY! ...This may or may not have been pushing this... but she might have hated him even MORE than she did Quash! ...And that wasn't an easy thing to do.
...Liari stepped out into the top floor of the ship, a cocky, arrogant smirk on her face for the audience and arms crossed over her chest to assert her dominance. On the inside, though, Liari was THOROUGHLY unimpressed! Look at this ensemble of jokers! Heroes INDEED, or so their getups implied! The tallest one appeared to be the leader, dressed in a rather flamboyant gi-like garb, his body covered by a black onesie undergarb with his hands and feet covered in white, sayain-like boots! His head was covered by a helmet and face-plate, though, so Liari couldn't exactly tell what race he was. The second appeared short, almost child-sized but squat like a dwarf. Out of shape, given the flab that bulged out from under his military-like uniform. His most defining-feature though, might've been the two eyes STARING at Liari out of the corner of his head... as did the other set in the middle of his face where they SHOULD have been.
...The final one was perhaps the most... hero-ish out of them all, striking (what he surely thought was) a fearsome pose before the majin, his eyes fierce and focused, as if he believed WHOLEY in what he was doing!
"VILLAIN!" The captain shouted, pointing a finger at Liari! "COULD IT BE THAT YOU SERVE THAT VILE MISCREANT, BABADI!?" Liari's eye twitched at the word "serve" but she said nothing. Instead, she uncrossed her arms and approached the trio slowly, her smile growing wider! This action seemed to intimidate the team, the fat one stumbling back, disconcerted, the poser dropping out of his pose into a battle-ready stance! Only the captain seemed confident, still... though that might've not been the case if Liari could see his face!
"WELL... IN ANY CASE, WE ARE HERE TO STOP YOU! WE ARE-"
Suddenly, Liari appeared behind the captain, her tentacles SLITHERING UP AND AROUND HIS HELMET AS SHE POINTED BOTH HANDS at the two heroes, each one firing a quick DODONPA from their pointer-fingers, IMPAILING THEM THROUGH THE HEARTS! As both soldiers went down, the majin's tentacles TIGHTENED in crushing flick, SMASHING the helmet in slightly, the captain falling limp soon after with MULTIPLE internal concussions before collapsing himself!
"Dead." The majin huffed, grinning widely. Ah, that rebellious streak had struck again! She remembered Babadi DEMANDING she take her time, STATING IT WAS ESSENTIAL... but honestly, she had lost her patience! She wanted what that Wizard had and she was going to get it! Liari's tentacles fastened around the captain's head, neck and upper torso like LONG cords of rope, the majin dragging him back into the elevator as she made her way down! She could handle Babadi's "fury..." but not for much longer if she didn't get what she was OWED.
